Each chair is torn down to it’s frame, given a complete tune-up. Any parts that need to be fixed or replaced are fixed, and then new casters, new gas cylinder, new (made in USA) arm pads, new lumbar pad (Size B Chairs Only), new front seat foam pad (Size B Chairs Only) are installed.
Please note these are used chairs, and may come with some minor dings and scratches. We do everything we can to make them like-new, but some small scratches and scuffs (nothing significant) are to be expected.
Size A is the small size, made for children and smaller people. Size B is the regular size, made to fit most adults. Size C is the large or plus sized version of the Aeron chair.

Fixed Arms Option – What You Need to Know:
We are now offering fixed arm Aeron chairs at a discounted price.
Fixed arm Aerons do not have a height adjustment lever or wheel to change the arm height quickly and easily, however the arm height can be set to any height you desire. If you do not change the height of your chair arms often, this can be a great option.
Chairs will ship at the standard mid-height, but if you find this setting too low, prior to installing the back, you can loosen the arms (the proper bit will be included with every fixed arm chair), slide to re-position, and tighten the arms to whatever height works best for you.

The Herman Miller Aeron chair comes in 3 different sizes. Size A, size B, and size C. Size A is the smallest of the bunch, size B is the standard size chair, and the size C is the plus size model. Which size is right for you?

Refurbished Herman Miller Aeron Caster Options:
Every chair gets brand new casters included – we offer several different sizes and options to choose from.
65mm Carpet casters are best for low-pile or dense carpeted floors. For medium, or longer residential carpets, we recommend 75mm Oversized Carpet Casters to help prevent the bottom of the gas cylinder from dragging on the floor.
Hard floor casters have a soft coating on them, helping them roll smoother and quieter on hard surfaces. This coating also helps protect the flooring from damage. Hard floor casters can also be used on carpeted floors.
We recommend hard floor casters for the following floors:

- Laminate

- Chair Floor Mats
Oversized (75mm) casters are larger and offer a smoother rolling experience, and also raise the chair up about ~1/2″.
Roller Blade casters offer the smoothest and quietest rolling experience of all, and work great on both carpet or hard floors. Their soft surface also helps protect floors the same as the standard twin-wheel hard floor casters.

Refurbished Herman Miller Aeron 12 Year Warranty:
All of our refurbished Herman Miller Aeron chairs are covered by our 12 year warranty under normal usage. All working components are warranted for 12 years against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship. Gas cylinders are covered for 6 years. In the event of a failure, Crandall Office Furniture will send replacement parts with installation instructions – installation labor costs are not covered. In the event of a failure beyond repair, a replacement chair will be sent. This warranty is good up to the stated manufacturer’s weight limits / capacity, which is 300lbs for the Herman Miller Aeron Size A Chair, and 350lbs for the Herman Miller Aeron Size B & C Chairs.
Warranty is null and void if the product is subject to negligence, abuse, misuse, or modification. Warranty only applies to the product; Crandall Office Furniture is not responsible in any way for loss, inconvenience, or any other special damages caused by any defect.
Refurbished Herman Miller Aeron Return Policy:
We are confident you will love your chair, but if for any reason you don’t, contact us for a no-hassle free return within 30 days of receiving your chair. We’ll send you a return shipping label and refund your entire purchase price once the chair has been received and inspected.
Returned chairs must be in the same condition as received and returned in the original box. (please keep the box until you’re 100% sure you’re keeping the chair).
Custom fabric chairs, or chairs with significant visible wear or damage, will incur a 15% restocking fee.

All of our Crandall Office Furniture Refurbished Herman Miller Aeron chairs ship partially dissembled to keep shipping costs as low as possible. Assembly of your Aeron chair is quick and easy, and only requires installing 4 bolts – Proper bit will be supplied.

We have wanted an Aeron for a long time but could not justify the cost or the waste. There’s so many office chairs out there that just, well, get dumped. The process of upcycling and the great cost of the Aeron chairs at Crandall is fantastic. We get a deal and there is 50 pounds of material not ending up as waste. What a great deal.
One of the things we really enjoyed was the clarity of the process at Crandall. Out in the inter tubes, there are tons of scammers trying to sell ‘Aeron’ chairs on the cheap. Crandall is transparent about their process, what the restoration consists of, and, most importantly to us, the context that the chair came out of (where it came from, the time it was there, year of manufacture).
As a collector of antique furniture, we are well able to examine condition, and from tip to toe the Aeron (size B, black, upgraded cylinder) that arrived was indistinguishable from new. All the HM parts replaced were obviously new, there were a couple of small touch up areas along the undercarriage that you can see if you lay on your back and get inches from the well applied touch up paint. There was a little dust in a couple of crevices, which made clear the Crandall explanation that the chairs sat in a room untouched for a while was true. Still, we found not a hint of an idea of a thing that reduced our confidence or would make us not purchase again.
We are supremely pleased with the condition, delivery, and the service from Crandall. Communication with the staff (when I made a mistake in the order) was clear and quick and helpful. The delivery and packaging was great, delivery charge (free) was an obvious win. The chair is such a fantastic addition to our wfh situations that we are considering a second one.
When that time comes, that chair will come from Crandall.

Really leaving this review for anyone skeptical of purchasing from a third-party as I originally was — I came across Crandall via Reddit, where there were a few other individuals who had ordered a chair from here and were overall pleased with the experience. I also thought this company’s website was more legitimate than some others that were claiming to sell refurbished chairs (specifically was looking for the Herman Miller Aeron). I would like to share my experience regarding this store– they are definitely reputable, and the chair that I ordered doesn’t even look refurbished – basically looks new, minus a few marks that are not noticeable unless you really look closely. I have complaints about this chair:
I had to learn how to sit in it. Turns out I’ve been sitting wrong for years and this chair doesn’t work that way. The improved posture and energy have lead to increased expectations on me.
I keep working longer hours than I mean to. My old chair forced a keen awareness of how long I had been working on something. Using this chair in my home office has caused me to repeatedly forget to stop working, because I don’t feel like I’ve been sitting for very long. I am now having to completely upend my lifestyle to accommodate new scheduling practices.
The chair arrived to early. About a week and a half before the expected shipping date, actually. I had to start adjusting to it before I was ready.
Also, they sold it to me with a stool conversion kit, so I can work at a comfortable drafting table height, and Dave Crandall helped me out when I had a particular need to address with my order.
Just to show my wife what a hassle it’s been, I ordered a chair for her, too.
This isn’t over. You’ll hear from me again, Crandall. Probably when my son finishes his software development degree. This would make a nice graduation gift.
