Crandall Office Furniture has been the industry leader in remanufacturing office chairs since 2002. Every chair we sell is completely torn down and remanufactured from the ground up in Greenville, Michigan.
We do our absolute best to make sure every chair is as close to new as possible. The only place you may see some variation is in the plastic surfaces. We have no way to resurfacing plastic, so some minor scrapes and dings on plastic pieces are to be expected. We remove anything that has large damage from inventory and use them as parts chairs
We go through all of the working components of every chair, then put it back together with new casters, new gas cylinder, new arm pads, new foam seat pad, new fabric (always removing the old fabric, chair back pads are sterilized with high temperature steam), and we stand behind each of our V2 Leap chairs with a 12 year warranty.
Be careful of terms like used, refurbished, or open box without doing your research. We’ve outlined our process in detail to make sure you know what to expect. New Steelcase V1 Leap Seats:
One of the only complaints we’ve seen from our customers about the Steelcase Leap Chair is that the seat pad is a bit too thin, with many users experiencing discomfort and/or “bottoming out” the foam pad and feeling the plastic structure under the seat pad.
Additionally, we’ve had some customers express concern about using a seat pad that has been sat on by someone else for potentially 10+ years.
Starting in early 2020, we began offering an additional 1/2″ of foam padding as an option on the seat of our Leap chairs, and have gotten a great response!
We’re excited to announce that we are now offering a brand new seat pad on all of our Steelcase Leap Chairs moving forward. Our new seat pad is made of high quality molded foam, identical to the Steelcase OEM seat pads (including the contoured shape of the original), except we’ve chosen to add an additional 3/4″ of thickness to our new seat cushion for additional comfort.
The result is a brand new, thicker seat on every Steelcase V1 Leap chair we sell!

We’ve chosen to use Guilford of Maine’s Open House fabric for use in our custom printing for it’s proven durability and track record. Tested to 250,000 double rubs, this fabric far surpasses (over 8x) the baseline industry standard for “extra heavy duty” commercial grade fabric of 30,000 double rubs.
On top of using only the best commercial grade fabrics, we’ve also invested in the latest dye sublimation and heat transfer technology to ensure the very best printing resolution, vibrant colors, and reliability that will never fade. Utilizing this process, the printed image becomes part of the fabric, so there is no worry of the image wearing off or fading with time like other printing processes, and we have the test results to prove it!

Every print is made to order in our Greenville, Michigan facility, and is never outsourced. Frequently Asked Questions
We have the ability to print literally any digital image at 300dpi (dots per inch – photo/print resolution). This includes photos, digital artwork, logos, patterns, and anything else you can think of!
Unfortunately we do not (yet) have the licensing in place to print sports or college logos at a retail level. This is an area we hope to expand in the future. The only exception is if you are a college, university, or sports team with written authorization to print and reproduce your own logo for internal use.
Absolutely not! We use the latest dye sublimation technology which will never wear off or fade. We have sent fabric samples out for independent testing, which passed both wear and UV fade testing with flying colors. You can see these test results below.

Yes we can! Most smart phones or digital cameras that take pictures of 12 megapixels or more work best, but if there’s any question, feel free to send us your photo and ask!
Yes! Given accurate color data, we can do color matching. It’s worth noting that when trying to match paint color or something that will be side-by-side with our fabric, it can be difficult to match exactly. In those cases, we can print sample swatches of like-colors and have you pick which one looks best to your eye.
Absolutely! We always send out digital design mockups before printing to make sure everything looks and is scaled to size correctly. We’re happy to do this design work with you prior to ordering.
No problem! We have graphic designers on staff that can help you create the perfect custom design. All fully custom chairs come with 1 hour of design time included.
Yes, we accept returns of all custom fabric chairs returned in the original packaging during our 30 day return window, but due to the cost of producing this custom fabric, all custom fabric chairs will incur a 15% restocking fee.

Chair is great! Very comfy and adjustable. You can rock/bounce in it slightly and sit crosslegged, which were musts for me. I couldn’t find bright colors anywhere and this was exactly what I wanted. Quality seems good. I haven’t sat in an original steelcase so I have no comparison, but at $500-ish it seems like a great deal!

Love the chair! Near-perfect experience through and through, except one very minor quip that could have been significant, but in my case, wasn’t. The customized chair ended up being awesome, but I had a minor change request once I saw ACTUAL non-mockup photos, one I was willing to pay for), that wasn’t honored because it was simply shipped out so fast (days ahead of the total estimated time), which of course getting something faster is generally awesome, and in this case it all worked out. Was in the market for an actual ergonomic chair and, like many, could not afford to buy the majority of them new (especially nowadays). I had seen plenty of posts of people buying from Crandall Office Furniture on Reddit (David has a nice presence here) and they definitely seemed like the most reputable option besides one other, but Crandall had far better options color/design-wise for the chairs they offer (amazing customer service, too!)
Since we have some Leaps v2 from steelcase at my workplace, I settled on the leap v2 with custom fabric since the remanufactured Gesture had been out of stock since I had been looking. I upgraded to get a 2020/21 frame along with the thicker back pad to go with the thicker seat. Other than a few minor blemishes here and there as expected, everything works smoothly and my back and butt have thanked me a thousand times over since I received it.
Eventually, I do want to try an Aeron, Embody, and a Gesture (I’d like a headrest), so if I can ever try a Gesture in person and I like it, I’ll more than likely be ordering it from Crandall down the line one day to save some money.
