One of the only complaints we’ve seen from our customers about the Steelcase Leap Chair is that the seat pad is a bit too thin, with many users experiencing discomfort and/or “bottoming out” the foam pad and feeling the plastic structure under the seat pad.
Additionally, we’ve had some customers express concern about using a seat pad that has been sat on by someone else for potentially 10+ years.
Starting in early 2020, we began offering an additional 1/2″ of foam padding as an option on the seat of our Leap chairs, and have gotten a great response!
We’re excited to announce that we are now offering a brand new seat pad on all of our Steelcase Leap Chairs moving forward. Our new seat pad is made of high quality molded foam, identical to the Steelcase OEM seat pads (including the contoured shape of the original), except we’ve chosen to add an additional 3/4″ of thickness to our new seat cushion for additional comfort.
The result is a brand new, thicker seat on every Steelcase V2 Leap chair we sell!

One of the reasons we think the Steelcase Leap chair (both Version 1 and Version 2) is one of the best and most comfortable office chairs ever made is because of how adjustable it is. Spending the time to properly adjust your Leap chair will not only make your chair more comfortable for you, it will also help prevent injuries from sitting without the proper ergonomic support.

We do our absolute best to make sure every chair is as close to new as possible. The only place you may see some variation is in the plastic surfaces – we have no way to resurfacing plastic, so some minor scrapes and dings on plastic pieces are to be expected – we remove anything that has large damage from inventory and use them as parts chairs
We go through all of the working components of every chair, then put it back together with new casters, new gas cylinder, new arm pads, new fabric (always removing the old fabric, chair pads are sterilized with high temperature steam), and we stand behind each of our V2 Leap chairs with a 12 year warranty.

Every chair we remanufacture gets the old fabric removed, chair pads are sterilized with high temperature steam, and new fabric is applied to-order. Below are our standard upholstery options for our Remanufactured Steelcase V2 Leap Chairs.

Our new 3D Mesh fabric is exceptionally durable (rated at 120,000 double rubs), supremely soft, significantly more breathable, and offers a very unique look to your chair!

Every chair gets brand new casters included – we offer several different sizes and options to choose from.
65mm (2.5 inch) casters are the standard OEM size caster. Due to their size, they work great on low-pile or dense carpets, and operate best with loads of 200lbs or less. Above that weight you will begin to experience a decline in rolling smoothness.

The larger 75mm (3 inch) casters are oversized casters. Due to their size, the 75mm caster offers a very fluid rolling experience (especially hard floor 75mm casters on a hard surface). These casters also excel in deep carpets, and uneven or rough surfaces. 75mm casters are also great for larger / big and tall users, as they will roll much more smoothly under stress, and also give you an additional bit of height to your chair.
Roller blade style casters are most similar to the hard floor style casters we discussed above, and are the larger 75mm size. Due to their construction, they actually give a bit more height to your chair than our 75mm casters. They have a soft treat that is ideal for harder surfaces, but also rolls well on carpet. These roller blade style casters improve rolling smoothness beyond the twin wheel casters, will help protect your floor, and will significantly decrease rolling noise on hard surfaces. These casters also have the advantage of looking much more modern, and stylish than a standard caster.
Roller Blade Casters are Best For:
Soft floor casters are constructed of a hard plastic and are designed to work best on carpeted floors. Soft floor casters are the default standard caster that most chairs come with, and are much more common to come across.

Hard floor casters are constructed of hard plastic, but also have a soft rubber or polyurethane coating on the outside of the wheels. Because the floor itself is hard, a soft coating on the caster provides additional grip (similar to the tread on a tire) and rolling smoothness needed for your chair to roll properly.
This soft coating also doubles as a protective material that helps defend your flooring from dings and scratches. When hard plastic carpet casters are used on hard floors with no protection, it’s not uncommon for there to be wear marks, scratches, and damage to the floor itself.
In addition to protecting your floor, you will also notice a significant decrease in rolling noise on hard surfaces when using hard floor casters.
There is also a safety aspect to this soft coating, as soft floor casters tend to slide a bit unpredictably on hard surfaces, and can easily roll further than expected. This can cause issues when sitting down in, or getting up from your office chair.
Ideal For Flooring Types:
All of our remanufactured Steelcase V2 Leap chairs are covered by our industry-leading 12 year warranty under normal usage. All working components are warranted for 12 years against manufacturing defects in material and workmanship. Gas cylinders are covered for 6 years. In the event of a failure, Crandall Office Furniture will send replacement parts with installation instructions – installation labor costs are not covered. In the event of a failure beyond repair, a replacement chair will be sent. This warranty is good up to the stated manufacturer’s weight limits / capacity, which is 400lbs for the Steelcase V2 Leap Chair.
Warranty is null and void if the product is subject to negligence, abuse, misuse, or modification. Warranty only applies to the product; Crandall Office Furniture is not responsible in any way for loss, inconvenience, or any other special damages caused by any defect.
We are confident you will love your chair, but if for any reason you don’t, contact us for a no-hassle free return within 30 days of receiving your chair. We’ll send you a return shipping label and refund your entire purchase price once the chair has been received and inspected.
Returned chairs must be in the same condition as received and returned in the original box. (please keep the box until you’re 100% sure you’re keeping the chair).
Custom fabric chairs, or chairs with significant visible wear or damage, will incur a 15% restocking fee.
All of our Crandall Office Furniture Remanufactured Steelcase V2 Leap chairs ship partially dissembled to keep shipping costs as low as possible. We provide assembly instructions with every chair and have a re-assembly video you can watch here.

Perfect chair choice! Perfect vendor choice!
The chair is comfortable, adjustable in every way desired, very sturdy and I’m sure will provide many years of service. It was shipped and received extremely quickly. It looks brand new! Assembly was a breeze. Make sure the cylinder “tab” (on top) is facing the height adjustment lever. If you have trouble figuring out the glides… They’re labeled “L” and “R”. These identify the position as you sit in the chair. The “bumpy” portion goes toward the back and the “bumps” contour to the seat framing. It took me a minute to figure that out :-). Customer service was very responsive (I ordered the wrong fabric color – noticed it in the order summary) VERY SATISFIED, WOULD/WILL DEFINITELY BUY FROM CRANDALL AGAIN!

The chair is in great condition, I would not have known it wasn’t brand new. The Steelcase chairs have a great way of moving with your body. The flexible seat at the knee and flexible top back make the chair feel very natural. With the included 12 year warranty, it’s an easy decision to pay 50% of retail and get a remanufactured chair from Crandall.
On top of the great product, customer service has been fantastic. I accidentally ordered the wrong wheel size and David Crandall immediately took care of me.

Highly recommend the remanufactured Leap v2 chair from Crandall. I previously used a Leap v2 at an old job and wanted one for my home office, but for someone who only plans to work from home once a week, the +$1,000 price tag on a new one is hard to stomach. Local second hand stores near me only had beat up Steelcase options, and those were still around $300. After spending weeks online debating my options, I found Crandall’s site, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
I ordered on a Saturday, it was shipped Monday, and I was sitting in it on Wednesday. Easy to put together and in excellent shape. A few minor scuffs on the plastic are the only giveaway that it is not brand new (and they are barely visible).
My wife and I are both working from home right now due to the coronavirus, and we fight over who gets to sit in the chair at any given moment. I have already told her that we are buying another one when we move to a bigger place. Thanks to David and team!

I’ve been sitting in it while I’ve been at my computer for about 24 hours now, and i can already tell a noticeable difference. My back doesn’t have the slight soreness it usually does by lunch time.
It got here quick – I ordered Thursday evening and it arrived yesterday. I’m sure it would be quicker, but they are surely swarmed with orders right now.
Unpackaging it was easy enough. It was in a big box marked with a 56lb weight, and the chair was in several different pieces. It also included a nice leather coaster with the company’s logo engraved on it and a notepad, along with a business card with a promo code hand-signed by who appears to be the owner… nice touch.
I started to go assemble it, and according to the instructions I was missing a piece. I used the chat function on their site and got an immediate reply from one of the co-owners and it turned out they had sent the instructions for a v1 instead of a v2 by mistake. Somewhat of an inconvenience, but again they replied immediately and sent me the proper instructions through the chat.
The customization options for the chair aren’t in line with something like the $1800 HM Embody I have sat in before, but there’s still plenty of options. I don’t find myself missing anything really from this perspective.
The biggest difference I can tell between this chair and HM’s is it moves with you. The HM chairs seem meant to be customized to have you sit perfectly still with great posture, but this chair supports you where you need it and flexes with you when you adjust yourself in the chair. It’s a hard feeling to describe, but if you look at the design of the chair and compare it to others, you might be able to tell what I’m talking about.
There are a few scuffs on the plastic that are due to it being a remanufactured product, but there’s no damage that I would consider a dealbreaker. In fact, aside from these few scuffs that you can’t see without looking for them, it is indistinguishable from what I would expect a new chair to look like.
The value you’re getting from this is astounding. I’m absolutely willing to trade a couple of scuffs on plastic for a 60%+ discount from retail for what is essentially the exact same thing, and support a green initiative all at the same time.

The chair I received looks like it’s brand new and came well packaged and was easy to quickly put together. The chair itself seems incredibly well made; I’ve heard good things about the Leap chair, but have never owned any Steelcase chairs before.
