All
versions of the Herman Miller™ Equa Chair have been
plagued with premature wear in the height mechanism
which causes the chair to wobble. The
plastic bushing in the center hub of the chair base
wears to the point that the steel upper support
tube flops back and forth inside the bushing. Crandall
Office Furniture has developed a replacement bushing
which eliminates the wobble. The new bushing can be
installed on site and in minutes, extending the life
of the chair up to 10 years. The old bushing is simply
broken and slid out of the base and the new bushing is
pressed in place with our install tool and a mallet.
You never have to throw out an old Equa chair again.
